Blueprints

Blueprints are schemes used to craft upgrades for the Drill. There are 40 levels for Engine, Drill bit and Fan parts, but only 16 for Cargo.

You can sometimes have several available blueprints for the same part. You don't need to buy all levels. Try to jump over every time you have the option. All levels are strictly better than the previous ones. They do not stack, they overwrite and improve the previous version. If you manage to buy the highest-level part (this is particularly easy at the start of the Moon), the previous ones will be retired (this way you save money, time and materials). You can also do this with blueprints from Gold chests: If you fulfill the conditions (mainly, depth reached), you may get a blueprint for an advanced part without buying the previous one.

This list of prices has been revised and updated to v0.40.

Availability

Blueprints can be found either from the crafting menu through vendors such as the Golem or Broken Robot, or from gold chests and the trading post (see below). It is well worth noting that if a trader comes along and offers you a blueprint, you still need to actually make the blueprint after the trade has happened. As a result of this, it is almost always not worth it to accept trades for blueprints, as they will cost you additional (and very often a lot more) money for a blueprint that you very likely cannot make. If traders are offering you blueprints, then they are also available from gold chests, and it may be worth your time opening some gold chests to try and find them.

Earth

• Craft Center (starter, up to Lv. 5)
• Golem's Shop (50km, Lv. 6 to 9)
• Broken Robot (225km, Lv 10 to 13)
• Lv. 14 to 17 must be found in Gold treasure chests, or from the trading post for money (not recommended).

Moon

• Craft Center (Moon starter, 1032km, Lv. 18 to 20)
  • It's quite possible to jump over two levels here and buy lv. 20 directly. Try to do it.
• Robot MK2 (1257km (W2-225km, Lv. 24 to 26)
  • You can "jump" to buy lv.25 on Engine and Drill directly (lv. 26 is locked because they require Silicon found around 1345km), but not on Heat Disperser (lv. 25 requires Silicon too). You may consider upgrading Heat Disperser lv. 24 first of all, then lv. 25 Engine and Drill.
• Lv. 21 to 23 and 27 to 32 must be found in Gold treasure chests.

Titan

• Craft Center (Titan starter, 1814km, W3-0km, Lv. 33 to 36 plus lv. 28 (final upgrade) for Cargo
• Robot MK3 (W3-225km, Level 37-40 blueprints, not including cargo)

Historical information

This table lists historical information of old versions of the game. The base information comes from 2013, and was lightly updated through the years, since it was accumulating at this article. Its interest is academical at best.

2. Cargo Bay 1	Lvl 2 Cargo Bay. It requires 10 Gold to craft and stores up to 2.000 minerals. The recipe costs $1.000. (changed at some moment post-2013 to 1500 cost, and cost 5 Gold and 10 silver to craft)
3. Cargo Bay 2	Lvl 3 Cargo Bay. It requires 40 Gold and 2 Platinum to craft and stores up to 20.000 minerals. The recipe costs $20.000.
4. Cargo Bay 3	Lvl 4 Cargo Bay. It requires 500 Gold, 200 Platinum and 10 U238 to craft and stores up to 1.000.000 minerals. The recipe costs $350.000.
5. Decent Cargo	Lvl 5 Cargo Bay. It requires 5.000 Gold, 1.000 Platinum, 200 Diamonds and stores up to 2.000.000 minerals. The recipe costs $3.500.000.
6. Large Cargo	Lvl 6 Cargo Bay. It requires 50.000 Diamonds and 120 Coal to craft and stores up to 4.000.000 minerals. The recipe needs to be found in Chests below 40KM depth (changed in 2013 to the Golem shop)
7. Huge Cargo	Lvl 7 Cargo Bay. It requires 200 U238, 200 Pu1 and 200 Es1 to craft and stores up to 6.000.000 minerals. The recipe costs 350.000.000 and can be bought at the lvl 50 shop (this was reduced in 2013, to 2M)
8. Giant Cargo	Lvl 8 Cargo bay. The recipe costs $3.5 Billion and can be bought at the lvl 50 shop (this was updated to 5M mineral at the end of 2013)
9. Enormous Cargo	Lvl 9 Cargo Bay, The recipe costs $35 Billion. The recipe can be bought at the lvl 50 shop. (this was added at the end of 2013)
